Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge

The Bend Motorsport Park

August and September have been a busy time for the awesome MR crew, starting with a test for the Michelin Sprint Challenge team at The Bend, then back a week later for another test day with our Carrera Cup cars, then 6 days with the Porsche Track Experience running the Cup Car for the famous PTX Level 5 program (also) at The Bend, before we came back for this weekend.

Tim did a great job to qual 7th. His pace is better than some of other rookies but he’s not quite up with the leaders yet, so despite a few lonely races, is still improving rapidly.

Summary

What a massive weekend. Due to the Carrera Cup race next weekend, this was a two-day (Friday & Saturday) meeting to allow the teams to depart on Saturday night to get home, swap Sprint Challenge cars for our Carrera Cup cars and make the 2000 klm trek back to Tailem Bend.

Highlights were Lockies charge to the lead in race 2, which was unfortunately taken off him after contact on lap 1. Daniel continues to impress with top 7 pace outright despite his older model car and Kamal showed his quality by charging up to 2nd in the 3rd race.
