Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Round 7

Summary

Bayley had the race weekend of his life sweeping practice 1, qualifying and three wins to back up his first two race wins and first round win here last year.

Jackson had a tough weekend after qualifying 2nd for race 1 and 5th for race 2. He didn’t get away well in race 1 which cost a lot of positions, then contact in race 3 caused damage to the LF suspension.

Caleb had a standout 2nd ever Carrera Cup round taking 11th from 18 'Pro Class' cars. Lockie didn’t qualify as well as he wanted but he passed 7, 6 then 9 cars in race three to take 12th for the round.

Clay Osborne had his Carrera Cup debut at the most treacherous track of the year and did a terrific job to stay out of trouble and his highlight was finishing 12th in race 1 before losing 6 positions after time penalties for kerb strikes.

We have very fond memories from here, having wrapped-up the drivers Championships with Matty Campbell in 2016, Jaxon Evans in 2018 and Harri Jones in 2022. Bayley's result is the 28th round win for MR and something we are all proud of.

Next up is the final round in Adelaide in three weeks where Bayley and Jackson have a solid mathematical chance of taking third in the championship with 180 points still available.
