Since our last race at Road America in July, the MR USA team tested at yet another amazing track, Circuit of the Americas in Texas, on September 4-5 to prepare for the final round of the 2023 PCCNA championship.

However, without a test day at Indy, we knew that we would need to do a good job in the two practice sessions on Friday to quickly dial in our car. We were sitting in second place in the championship and were keen to increase our gap over Will Martin, who is in third place.

Summary

Tom did another terrific job in qualifying, securing 2nd place in race 1 and 4th in race 2. In race 1, he held second place for 21 of the 28 laps until being punted off by championship rival Martin, who was issued a drive through penalty for his performance. Race 3 didn't fare any better; a mis-cue while going for the lead at turn 1 on lap 1 sent Tom into a spin, and he received a drive-through penalty for good measure!

The awesome MR USA crew immediately went back to work on the car before beginning the three-day trek across to the West Coast. They're scheduled for a two-day test at Laguna Seca in California next week, along with his new teammate Bayley Hall.
